About Rosie

UPDATE: Rosie has been surrendered to the Humane Society of Wickenburg (Wickenburg, Arizona). If interested, contact them. History: We have been caring for Rosie since she showed up at our neighbor's house in the Arizona desert in April 2022, she was very skinny, had cuts/bites all over her (coyotes?), and was very afraid of people. Once we earned her trust with treats and food, she let us take her to our house where she made herself right at home. Once she realizes someone is kind, trustworthy, and gives her food, she warms right up to them. The Good: Rosie is beautiful! Happiest when she's with her people Housebroken Crate trained Great with kids and other dogs (hasn't been around cats since we've had her) She's a very smart girl and would love to continue her training with you She loves to please Rosie is motivated by positive affirmations or treats Sweet/sensitive Intelligent Good natured Social Loving Cuddly/affectionate Very playful yet still knows how to be gentle with toddlers/kids Would thrive in a home with a person or family who has time to give her the attention she needs and loves The Not So Good: Barks a lot. She barks when she wants outside, barks when she wants inside, barks at people and cars driving by. Runs away. If she gets the chance, she will run away and be gone on an adventure for an hour or longer and then comes back home, barking at us to let her inside. Will not 'come,' unless she feels like 'coming' to you. I'm sure this could be fixed with someone who has time to train/work with her. She can climb over a chain-link-fence. Has not traveled much (since we've had her anyways). May be shy/scared at first but once she gets to know and trust someone she's your best friend and will be trying to cuddle and get attention
