About Oregano

Oregano has had a hard life and it shows from the moment of meeting him. He was curled up so small on his bed. When he realized we were coming for him, his eyes were big from terror. Heart shattering. Eventually we got him leashed and outside. It wasn't an immediate process to win Oregano over. He doesn't trust humans from the get go but why should he. People have failed him. Oregano is rail thin but not typical street dog beat up. His coat actually looks healthy, too much for an extended stay alone as a stray. Oregano avoid us when we were in the lot but his hunger won for brief moments. He would grab a treat and go, each time pausing a bit longer until we worked up to light petting. Oregano knows some commands and has a gentle mouth. By the end of our first day we weren't best friends in a cuddle puddle but progress was made. We don't want to fail this sweet boy again so time he shall have to develop his flavor of trust. Come meet him at the CACC shelter in Chicago! ADoptions take place daily from 12p-6p
