About Poppy

Poppy! Pictures truly do not do this gorgeous brindle girl justice. Poppy joined us from a local shelter a few months ago where she ended up as a stray in very poor condition - you could see every rib and vertebrae, as well as lots of missing hair and skin infections. She has recovered well from the physical impact of her past and for some reason still seems to love all people. At just around a year old she definitely has puppy brain still and is energetic. Poppy was adopted from us and returned barely 2 weeks later with a list of complaints. The best being that she would have bouts of 'aggression' where she would run around at top speed. Ahhhhh yesss....puppy zoomies. Who hasn't been there?! Sure you may need some shin guards lol but definitely no aggression. Just a high level of joie de vivre. Additional complaints include wood trim chewing (see overgrown puppy) and squirrel chasing. (insert eye roll here) Poppy absolutely loves her people and can definitely get over excited but she is also very into pleasing you and treats, making training really fun. She definitely will need regular exercise and outlets for her energy. She requests no grumpy fuddy-duddies the next time around. Most of all she needs a family that understands and appreciates the commitment needed for a young dog. Poppy is around 70-80 lbs now and is estimated to be a cane corso type mix. She is the epitome of a happy, fun dog and anyone in her presence should consider themselves lucky. Poppy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
