About Thunder

He's overall a good dog. He's good with kids probably 5+ (need to understand when he wants to be left alone). Age is a guess from the vet. Got him when he was ~7. Wasn't neutered at the time. Got that done almost 2 years ago. Very anxious and fearful, pees where he is if he thinks he's in trouble. Can be defensive to perceived aggression. Loves to be outside and run. Extraordinarily friendly, has gotten out a few times and runs to the first person he sees. Good with most dogs but can be defensive of food, gets better the more he's around the dogs. He can also be defensive if another dog won't leave him alone, had never instigated anything with another dog. He just doesn't listen to me, I'm a big guy with a beard so if he thinks he's in trouble, he just wants to be in his crate. Knows basic tricks, sit, shake, lay down. I think he has bad hips based on how he lays down. Having a yard he can run in will help (I don't have a fence currently so it's difficult to give him). I rescued him from an abusive home and I thought I could help him. He had a scar on the left side of his face and a crooked nose. Has had frequently UTIs in the past and problems peeing and marking his territory. It has gotten much better but he seems to like peeing in my daughters bedroom. He does usually let you know when he needs to go outside. Seems to do better with women as far as the fearfulness goes. Definitely has some slight separation anxiety, can hear him howling when no one is home. I can answer any questions. I just want him to be able to enjoy the remainder of his life. These dogs are not easy to deal with so please don't take this on without knowing what you're doing. His food is expensive, Purina Proplan Adult 7+.
