About Dot

Adoption Fee: $475
Collie / German Shepherd
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Dot is a lovely, social, happy-go-lucky puppy searching for a forever home. This adorable girl is about 5 months old and weighs 30 pounds currently (11/10). Pal's Place rescued Dot from an open-intake shelter in Kentucky after flooding ravaged the area. An overcrowded, chaotic, stressful pound is no place for a pup. We heard her story and brought this sweetheart to a wonderful foster home in Chicago to find her forever home. While we cannot say for sure what her breed mix is, Dot appears to have a lot of Collie, Shepherd, and Cattledog in her, possibly with other herding breeds such as Border Collie and Aussie in her family tree as well. Dot can be a little bashful when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly. She loves going for walks, chewing on bones, playing with her canine foster siblings, and, most of all, she loves cuddles and snuggles more than anything else. Before applying, please research Collies, Cattle dogs, and herding breeds in general. They are beautiful dogs, but not for everyone. True to her herding breed heritage, Dot is an active, busy, and intelligent puppy! She will not be happy cooped up in a kennel while you are working or alone for hours at a time; an active household where someone is home more often than not will be the best fit for Dot. She is working on her crate training and house training and is doing excellently when kept on a regular schedule. Remember that puppies this age and size need potty breaks every 3-4 hours, along with lots and lots of playtime throughout the day. Please consider if you truly have time for a puppy before applying. Dot is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and started on flea and heartworm prevention. She is ready and anxious to meet her new family! Dot's adoption fee to the rescue is $475. She is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been submitted and approved by the rescue. For more information, please email [email protected], or to complete an adoption application online, visit http://palsplacerescue.org/adopt/. We cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not apply unless you are available to meet and ready to welcome a new member into the home within three days of applying. %BD' Dot's adoption fee to the rescue is $475.
