About IVY

Ivy is ready to be a puppy herself after successfully raising her own EIGHT puppies, and she's off to a terrific start with her foster's help, but she needs a home now! This girl is between 1 and 2 years of age and weighs approximately 54 pounds. She is described as a wonderful pup, ready to find her people and give them a lifetime's worth of love! Ivy is potty trained and has had no 'uh ohs' in her foster home. She is polite with her food, and will 'sit' before having her food served. Good girl! Ivy is a girl on the go. Her favorite activity is zooming around the backyard, running to her heart's content! She has puppy energy to spare and loves to play! She does well with other dogs. She has a vocal and energetic full-play style that she knows will be appreciated by a future doggy sibling! Ivy's energy level might overwhelm small children, but she will be a perfect match for older/teen children that can match her playfulness! She is also learning how to meet new people without jumping up. Ivy's forever home will need a fenced-in yard, as she is very interested in the world around her and would be tempted to explore further than is in her best interest! She's an adventurous gal, but she's working on learning boundaries and other important puppy lessons. She loves going for car rides, and getting to explore the world in another way! She is learning commands related to the car such as 'Up', 'Wait', and 'Out'! She is extremely smart and motivated to learn! Ivy is also working really hard on her leash skills because she knows this will only let her see more of the world. She hopes to find a home that will want to include her in all of their adventures! Ivy has some mild 'FOMO', or Fear Of Missing Out. She wants to do everything with YOU! She exhibits some signs of separation anxiety when people leave her, but she's working hard on building up confidence in herself. She is not currently accustomed to being crated. For these reasons, Ivy would be overjoyed with a work-from-home/stay-at-home family member that can give all the attention she needs! What Ivy desires more than anything is a patient family, willing to teach her boundaries, confidence, and security. She wants to be with someone who will help her become her best doggy self.
