About Meyer

Chihuahua mix
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1. Adults and older teens only. 8-year-old male Terrier mix, about 15 pounds. Meet the Marvelous Mr. Meyer, full name Fred G Meyer after the store he was living behind as a stray. This young senior, estimated to be 8-10 years old, acts more like a 2-year-old and would love an active human. Meyer is a great size for a lap to car companion at 15 lbs and is guessed to be a chihuahua/terrier mix. Meyer came to Smidget Rescue already neutered, an eye which had been professionally removed, and clean but crooked teeth. Everyone he meets has decided that the snaggly teeth are a part of his charm, especially since he is a dog who smiles when happy or excited. This little adventurer loves car rides and walks. He will jump and bark with excitement when he knows it is time to go outside. Meyer loves car rides so much that he will lead his human to any car in the area to give the hint it is time for the car. Toys long enough for a gentle game of tug of war are a favorite of Meyer. If you throw it for him, he will bring the toy back for more. He has loved the yard and access via dog door at his foster home. However, he does bark at activity outside to let everyone know Meyer is on guard duty. Because Meyer is a barker, he will need to live in a house, not an apartment or condominium. While he is living with other dogs in his foster home, Meyer would also love to be someone's one and only dog. If there are other male dogs in the house, he will mark inside. After living as a stray, he will resource guard his human and/or a favorite hangout. Because of this, we are looking for a household where everyone is an adult or older teenager. Meyer also prefers women over men, so will likely become 'her' dog if the household has both male and female members. For the right home, Meyer has a ton of love to give. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at [email protected] or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
