Please note that we will ask for a vet reference. Name: Zena Age: approx. 6 months (born in approx. May 2022) Breed: Husky/German Shepherd mix, medium, currently 31# Sex: Female, not spayed Location: Ventura County, California VET INFORMATION: Zena is not spayed or microchipped. She has not had a heartworm test, but she is current with her Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations as well as her wellness exam. Her other vaccines will be updated soon according to her owner. Zena has been to a veterinary ophthalmologist. She was born with eye abnormalities. Her owners say that when they move their hands slowly, Zena seems to see the movement but her response is delayed to where the hand is, so she may see some forms or form of movement. Her right has a high risk of glaucoma, and it is controlled by medications to keep the eye pressure down. Her left eye has traces of cataracts that affected the eye. Zena needs to have several eye drops administered daily and is on several oral medications. A full list of both will be provided upon request. Otherwise, Zena is a healthy girl, energetic and playful! Her veterinarian's office reports that Zena is a very sweet girl who is good with people and other dogs. Although she can be a little nervous there, she is a perfect patient and very quiet in the office. OWNER INFORMATION: Due to financial, business, and family situations, Zena's owners are looking for a new family for her that has more time and attention for her and can better care for her and train her. Zena is an outdoor dog with a fenced in yard. She is not house broken, but she is leash trained. Her owners have been training her at home and taught her cues for Sit, Down, Stay, Off, Leave It, and Come. This outgoing girl is good with men, women, teenagers, younger children, male and female dogs, cats, and other small animals. She currently lives with a toddler, cat, and small dog. Zena is not possessive with treats, toys, or food. She has never shown aggression to any person or other animal. Zena has no bite history. Her owners feel that she adapts well to new situations and surroundings despite her blindness. Zena does well at home, but she is calmer when she is walked and when she goes to work with her owners. Zena does hesitate going through doors. ZENA'S OWNERS WOULD LIKE YOU TO KNOW: 'She is a young dog full of joy besides her condition. Our dog needs a second chance, a better living condition, something that I won't be able to do. She is a wonderful dog; I know I am making a good decision. She deserves lots of love and care. The only thing I can do is enjoy the last moments with her, hopefully she gets a forever home.' Does anyone have room for sweet Zena? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
