About Rachel

Rachel is not so sure about much right now. The shelter is very overwhelming and she is feeling all of it. Rachel was found roaming around a school. She was smart enough to let school staff (one of our volunteers!) help her which resulted in snacks inside while they waited for the shelter to pick up. Rachel was calm in the commotion of all the kids running around. By the time we met her, she was pretty sad. Rachel is easy to leash and handle walking in the yard. She did some owner searching and anxious pacing but would stop to take a treat or two. Rachel was hesitant when we tried to pet her but that is not uncommon for shell shocked dogs. Rachel doesn't look starved but her belly is always on empty and treats are the way to her heart. We even got a few kisses to show her appreciation for the delicious snacks! We are starting to see more of Rachel's personality as time goes by. She likes to run after toys and is still very motivated by food. Come meet her at the CACC shelter in Chicago!
