About Sabrina

Sabrina is a goofy, curious, sweet and smart dog who unjustly spent most of her life living in a small outdoor kennel or locked in a closet. She is estimated to be 8 years old and looking for a soft landing place to live out her last years with a loving family, hopefully with a fenced in yard. She was obviously starved for a very long time before being rescued and has now been in foster for almost three months. Despite being abused by humans, she actually loves human attention and affection and is extremely friendly with all adults and children she has met. She has fairly low energy and mostly lays around, but willingly snuggles and enjoys short walks. She is a 'mini' mastiff, weighing approximately 80-85 lbs., and has the typical gentle giant demeanor - as long as she is the only dog. She really, really loves to please her humans and will do almost anything for a treat. She also has a tongue that is obviously too big for her mouth! She's got basic commands down (come, sit, stay, leave it) and is learning good house manners, aside from the occasional counter surfing. She does have anxiety and/or aggression with some dogs, most likely because of the conditions she lived under for so long. She's been working with a trainer to help her refocus away from other dogs and has made some progress. Sadly, euthanasia has been on the table for her since she was rescued.
