About Tahoe

Adoption Fee: $,100
Australian Cattle Dog / Bearded Collie
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

I need help to find temporary housing for our/my dog, Tahoe, our Stumpy Tail Australian Cattle Dog. Tahoe was rescued 5 years ago - he was only 9 months old when we began to foster and eventually became our dog. Tahoe was found abandoned on a park and had suffered abuse from his previous 'owners'. Over the past years we helped Tahoe overcome his fears and has become a confident and happy dog. We had invested on positive training. He used to be very reactive towards man and other dogs and he has fixed the issue 95%, compared to 4 years ago. He still is not fan of cats. Tahoe is the most amazing dog, really! He is goofy and loves to make sure you are engaged. He loves to play with the ball, go for hikes, and spend time with our 2-year old. Tahoe is high energy, we would take him out at least twice a day for an hour to play on a large baseball field and meet other good doggie friends. Writing this makes me extremely sad and somewhat ashamed, I definitely do not want to get rid of our dog. Right now I am facing a family separation which would make it very difficult for me to take care for my toddler and Tahoe at the same time. Tahoe does require his walks and need the attention i am afraid i am not going to be able to provide once my husband and i get separated. My husband does not want the dog and partially blames Tahoe for the separation, therefore i do not expect him to want to help out with the dog. I need help while I find a house that has a large enough backyard because the current living arrangement is not suitable for the dog. I need help taking care of Tahoe for 3 months, please. I will pay for treats, dog toys, food, and all vet expenses. Ideally, the foster home lives near Oakland, CA. Lives with a single person or a young couple. Has no cats and has a car so he/she can take the dog for adventures. I must ensure Tahoe will be on the best home I could find. Please reach out to me and we can have a conversation.
