About Togo

Adoption Fee: $150
Siberian Husky
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

We are rehoming a Male Siberian husky. He is 2 years old (dob 6/10/20). His name is Togo and nick name is Miko'| so he responds to both:) . He is intact and up to date at the vet. He is a very sweet affectionate dog who lives for cuddling, playing, and outdoor running. He loves to play fetch with his humans. He Hates getting wet, so bathing is a bit of a challenge and he's scared to swim in lakes but apparently that's a common husky trait according to his vet. He's very loyal and likes to follow his favorite people around side by side. He knows basic commands. He has extremely good senses and knows if his people are sad, sick or hurt'| he will immediately come running to comfort anyone that needs it. He is an indoor dog but prefers the outdoors a lot especially when it gets cooler because of the thick winter fur huskies have, they love cool weather. He is kennel trained for sleeping overnight and if we are out for a bit. He does well with the sport training collar if needed and is trained with the sound of the beep on it. But we only use it to help if he starts losing interest in listening'| then it helps get him back on track with listening to his people and commands. The reason we need to rehome him is because his other typical husky trait is he's an escape artist'| like many huskies tend to be. He likes to go exploring the neighborhood any chance he can get. We've tried so so many ways to keep him safe in our yard including getting an entire new chain link fence'| only to find chain link fence wont keep him in safe. He needs a home that has either tons of roaming land where he is allowed and free to run and come home when he misses his family'| which he does return home pretty quickly because he gets sad and misses his people when he leaves. Either that or he needs a 6' very sturdy privacy fence that he can't go under or over. Neither of which I can provide for him right now. We live in town in a neighborhood with 1/4 acre lots and it's just not cutting it for him and his needs. He needs walks/runs but also need extra time to run and walk around the yard a lot. He would love another dog for companionship and or a family member that will give him lots of time to do hikes, play fetch etc. He loves the companionship of other dogs his size as he loves to play. We've tried everything we can to meet his needs within our means but it's not working. We would move to more land if we could but it's not in the cards. His buddy is another husky who doesn't have the desire to go explore as much as him'| so we didn't realize when we adopted him as a 8 week old puppy that we wouldn't be able to meet his needs like we are with our first dog. We're extremely sad but also realize he could have a much better and safer life with more freedom if he was given the opportunity with a family that has the property/land/space to meet his needs. And at the end of the day him being happy is what matters the most to us. So we're looking for a loving home that could give him this opportunity. Small rehoming fee to insure he goes to a good home
