About Hank

*Hank *5 year old male Great Dane *Neutered and UTD on vaccines and preventatives *scrolled third eyelid causes no discomfort and is purely cosmetic. We don't condone removing body parts for cosmetic reasons *Good with other dogs (prefers large female dogs) *NO CATS *Good with kids 12+ *Housebroken and crate trained *Located in Rockville, MD Don't let this grumpy face fool you! Hank is a very sweet, cuddly, and easy going guy. He's your typical Velcro Dane. This big, beautiful, blue harlequin boy is about 120 lbs. He came into rescue after being abandoned at a park. He was very thin and had a a few medical concerns including Cherry Eye. Even after his Cherry Eye surgery, his third eyelid is scrolled and covers a portion of his eye. This doesn't cause him any discomfort and is purely cosmetic. We don't condone removing body parts for cosmetic reasons. It just makes him look a bit more unique! Hank is happy to play with people or other dogs, but also perfectly happy to just lay around. He just wants to be near his people. Soft blankets are his FAVORITE thing. He'll bring you his favorite plush toys or play fetch with a ball. He actually brings the ball back too! He doesn't startle easily and no issues with loud noises, other dogs barking or fireworks. Hank's happy to go on a walk or car ride. He's still working on leash manners, but quickly learns your pace and he'll walk with you with a loose leash most of the time. Hank does well with other dogs, preferably large ones. He seems to get along best with female dogs. Hank reads the room well and he's down to play or just do his own thing. He also doesn't seem to mind small dogs but hasn't lived with any that we know of. Hank chases cats, so it's best he go to a home with NO cats. Good with kids 12+, but younger kids unknown. He's great with baths and ear cleanings, but hates his nails cut. He's crate trained, potty trained, neutered and UTD on all vaccines. Hank is a cuddle bug and he loves people! He listens to commands well and he's quick to learn boundaries. Hank is a wonderful boy and he deserves a home with lots of love and attention. Hank is fostered in Rockville, MD. We do adopt out-of-state but require adopters to travel to the foster home with their current dog/dogs (to ensure they will be friends) to pick up.
