Marvin / A681026 8 Year Old Neutered Male German Shepherd - URGENT NEEDS RESCUE BY 10/30/2022 Marvin is an 8 year old neutered male German Shepherd that originally arrived as a stray on 07/28/2022 after walking into a residents home when the front door was open and unattended. Marvin arrived emaciated with skin issues, weakened pelvic limbs, and overall lameness to his hind legs. He initially had chronic diarrhea with a concerning color and odor, but began having a hard time producing any bowel movements with observed constipation. Marvin has had multiple work-ups and exams, with the resulting findings being consistent with perianal fistulas that will require medical management beyond the resources the shelter can provide. Marvin urgently requires rescue assistance by 10/30/2022 to continue his medical care. Please note, the date may be escalated depending on animal's medical progress and comfort level. Marvin was nervous on initial intake but quickly progressed to allow handling by all volunteers. He is sensitive to excessive handling during medical exams, but has allowed touch/handling for medicated baths, grooming, walks, and playgroup interactions. Marvin is shy and submissive with people and other dogs but warms up quickly to both, he has been able to interact with all volunteers as well as general public when out of kennel during operational hours. He has been able to participate in group/pack walks as well as gentle/dainty playgroups, preferring calm / gentle dogs to interact with.
