About Toby (by St Louis)

Adoption Fee: $325
Border Collie mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Toby, our cheeky boy. The approximately 11 month old adorably (and rarely) colored sable Border Collie mix with an impish twinkle and jaunty prance! The puppin is about 35 pounds-a compact clever britches and sometimes cheeky boyo. Foster Mom says he's a charmer who'll steal your heart while cajoling a third (...fourth?) treat if you aren't careful. Toby has stolen her heart but she's on to his impish ways. The boyo is gifted with smarts, energy, enthusiasm and cheeky cheer. He enjoys his Person and enjoys romping with his Foster canine siblings-they come in a variety pack. Toby came from a home that wasn't able to provide the time and interaction he needed. He was kept in a crate-not a best solution for this exuberant spirit. Foster Mom is experienced with smartypups and has spent time patiently coaching Toby. The lil whippersnapper doesn't get anything over on her. Toby's a champ! He listens attentively and will 'sit' and 'down' and is also learning-'look at me', 'wait', 'touch'. Yummies incentivize. The bright boy waits until prompted to enter and exit his crate. Toby does great in it. He may voice his opinion about some things-like when it's time to get out. He has good house manners. Toby's learning to walk on leash-but he's still a puppy in training. He'd be great in obedience, performance, or doggo sports. He's a typical herding breed who likes to keep his brain busy and his energy focused. Toby just LOVES life and LOVES being a dog. Toby's the lil buddy to keep up with you and take with you. Period. Toby's Forever family are searching for a very energetic, smartypup to guide into adulthood and involve in their active lives. Maybe dog games, agility, camping...Toby is all the potential. Don't apply if you are a pushover. Toby needs a loving coach. Training and socialization are an essential part of pup parenthood. Dog-shrewd kiddos, probably 8 and up will be perfect pals for the passionate pup. A fence is best, but may not be necessary for the right 'let's go boy' experienced person who always monitors their pup. Multiresidential buildings (such as apartments) are not a good fit for this boy. Our adopters give their new family member time to decompress, grow familiar with the new environment/routine and invest time to train. They're committed to slow monitored introductions with new people, especially children, other animals, and places. Toby is excited to start his new life-'Hey Family! I've been getting ready for our Lifetime together! Let's adventure together!' If you have the time to give a pup and are ready to experience all that comes with a puppy, the joys and the training, as well as the possible normal growing 'oopsies' like chewing, potty accidents, and puppy nips, please apply with that in mind. If you are Toby's Match please fill out an application at the link below to be considered as a possible adopter. (Only COMPLETELY answered applications will be considered.) https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/dDNce9yr0ChU0F -Fostered in IL, near St.Louis, MO. *Read the bio carefully. Priority is given to the pup's needs in choosing the adopter to ensure a Happy Forever. Transport help may be available for some dogs to to some states, depending on the dog's best interest and location, and will be discussed with the chosen adopter. *The breed/mix assigned to this dog is based on appearance and/or traits, not from a DNA test.
