#Bright, #Ambitious and oh so #Beautiful, Ladies & Gentlemen meet #Posey. Watch out because this sassy little girl will completely steal your heart. Posey is a 3 year old #Husky mix and weighs in at 50lbs. She was born as a feral on the streets of Southwest #Detroit, where our rescue family at Help Us, Help Them Dog Rescue trapped her at the age of 8 months old. Over the past year and a half, Posey & her best friend Brenda (also feral from a different pack) have been being rehabilitated while in our care. A dog being born feral, compared to a dog turning feral is a completely different ball game. As a young pup, Posey was never socialized with humans at all whatsoever. That being said, rehabbing her wasn't going to be easy. With time, love, patience and more rotisserie chicken than you can possibly imagine, Posey went from the streets to slowly but surely becoming a house dog. Posey enjoys lounging around on the couch or cuddled up on a doggie bed with soft blanket. She's 95% potty trained and may have a little accident here or there. Posey is 100% crate trained and recognizes her crate as her safe space. Once Poseys has had the chance to warm up to you she absolutely loves attention, getting pets and snuggles, but it's has to be on her own terms. Posey is very independent, but is definitely a curious one at that. She is very interested in just about everything everything going on around her and she always craves to be a part of it. Posey loves other dogs, she loves to play with them, and she'll try to make every dog play with her- regardless if they want to or not. Posey has completely bonded with Brenda, the other feral that we trapped about 5 months before her. Although Brenda and Posey are from different packs, they simply have a bond together as they went through the entire socializing process together. Please understand that feral dogs mainly travel in packs and that's all that they ever knew. That being said, we have made it a requirement for Posey to have another Younger, playful dog in her forever home. Please also understand that it will also take time to earn Posey's trust. But once that trust is earned, she'll be your loyal companion for life. Posey is a wonderful dog and has come so far, but still has a lot to learn. If you don't currently have another dog, please check out her best friend Brenda Posey is currently up for adoption through Help Us, Help Them Dog Rescue. Her adoption fee is $250 & will include her distemper, rabies, bordetella, parvo, & lepto vaccines; deworming; microchip; heartworm test; fecal test & being fixed. Posey is currently on both flea & tick, as well as heartworm prevention. Posey is currently being fostered within the metro Detroit area.
