American Staffordshire Terrier / American Bulldog
Age: Young Adult

What would you do if somebody randomly walked up to you and #LickedYourFace? For example, let's just say it's this #Affectionate, #Silly & oh so #Dapper man? Ladies & Gentlemen we're excited to introduce #Doug aka #DouglasHeffernan from #KingOfQueens! Make sure to be very careful when it comes to this guy right here, as #Doug is the sweetest boy that you'll ever meet and boy does he aims to please. Doug is a 2 year old #AmericanBulldog mix, who weighs in at a muscular 65lbs. Isn't he #Handsome? Doug would thrive best in an active home with a family to love. He's young and loves to play, food motivated and eager to please, and loves everyone and would benefit greatly if there was an existing dog in his prospective home. Doug is a well mannered dog and would thrive best in a home that are kids 13 and up. I mean'| Doug's just your typical #Goofy #Pitty with the cutest #WiggleButt that doesn't know how good looking he truly is, better yet his size at that. What can we say, our little #Douggie #LivesToLove. He also loves being in the car and would be the perfect #PartnerInCrime for a #RoadTrip. Doug even traveled from Michigan to Florida and back with his foster family. He's an adventurous one, that's for sure. Did we mention that Doug does phenomenal with other dogs? He's even great with cats and loves to clean and play with them. We promise he's not trying to get a sneak peak on what's for dinner- especially since he has 3 cats in his current Foster Home. Doug is also 100% potty trained, 100% crate trained and great on a leash. Doug was Rescued off the streets of Detroit by one of our board members. Sadly no one stepped up to claim him. Once we had him fixed and full vetted, Doug was sadly diagnosed heartworm positive. Now that he's done with his treatment, Mr. Lover Boy aka Doug is officially up for adoption. Do you think he sounds like the perfect fit for your family? ***Adoption Requirements: No Exceptions*** %8F Fenced in yard REQUIRED s No Invisible Fences Doug is currently up for adoption through Help Us, Help Them Dog Rescue. Our mission is to play an active role throughout our community by 'Lending A Helping Hand' to animals that were either abandoned, in shelters, unwanted, homeless, chained outdoors, or victims of prior abuse and/or neglect. Our rescue family has accomplished this by setting up each animal and their new families up for success by educating and consulting pet parents about what's in the best interest of their pets overall well-being, and creating an awareness in our community about the vital importance of fully vetting and spaying or neutering their pets. #HelpUsHelpThem #HelpUsHelpThemDogRescue #RescueDogsOfDetroit
