About Jasper

Jasper is a six year old thoroughbred Australian Shepherd from a great bloodline, neutered when he was three, tail docked at birth, weighs about 75lbs and stands about 46-48 inches. He does not have any health issues, is a happy boy but does need another rabies shot to be current. Jasper is an amazing dog who we rescued from a family in crisis four years ago. The wife was hospitalized for many months and Jasper was neglected. This happened shortly after he lost his K9 pack leader. He became confused and insecure, which is exhibited as aggression. He expresses aggression such as: Social/Dominance, Protective, Barrier, Fear Induced, Redirected, & Resource/Object Guarding. We used this trainer for a couple months and Jasper made vast improvements; however he still needs more training and attention. For example, on leash he will lunge for other dogs passing by. His behavior off leash is less triggered. With little kids he thinks he needs to herd them, so children above four foot or 7 + yrs old is best. Jasper grew up in a very social home with lots of people, young children included. He loves the activity and attention; he loves people, so he naturally enjoys the socialization. He is fine with cats and other small animals as well. Jasper needs a family who can continue his training. He is a quick study, very smart and not only wants to please but is super eager to. This Aussie is 100% velcro to his human. He loves to be worked. A family/home with enough space/fenced in yard to safely play/run is necessary for him. He does best with two walks per day no matter the weather and a good game of fetch &/or tug. He will sleep at your bedside & visit with you on the bed if allowed. His coat is easy to brush and requires little grooming as Aussies should never have their coat cut or shaved. Jasper loves the water/swimming & adores the snow equally. My family and I are recent victims of Mortgage Fraud and were abruptly displaced from our home. Jasper has been in my elderly parents' care in New England during this time. They are snow-birds going back to Florida on the 29th of October and he needs to be placed ASAP. Please reach out to me with any further questions.
