About Zoey

Meet Zoey! Zoey is a mixed breed dogs who is around 4 years old and weighs 32 pounds. Poor little Zoey has been passed around to multiple owners who have not been able to make a commitment to keeping Zoey. She can be loving and fun but also nervous because of the the change she has experiened in her short life. Zoey loves adventures and walks and spends the nights sleeping quietly in her crate. For Zoey, we are looking for a quiet home that can provide her with the stability and life-long love that she really needs. She does not seem to do well with other dogs. She has lived with kids but because she does not like to share her food, small kids may not be the best fit for her. We know there are lots of people who just have one little dog as a pet and are hopeful we can find a situation like that for Zoey. She is not in the type of foster home she needs to be happy and would love to find an adopter or new foster home before winter. Zoey is not in a foster home that can keep her indefinitely and could be at risk of euthanasia if no one wants her. A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Zoey, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
