About Willow

Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Willow! Fair warning! Her stunning coat and eyes are showstoppers. People may stop and tell you how gorgeous she is. Dubbed a cuddle monster, Willow is a 3-year-old, 55-pound female American Pit Bull, and is currently located in Randolph, MA. She has had private obedience classes and can sit, lay down, give paw, and wait and is very treat-motivated when learning new commands. A funny quirk of Willow's is her vocalizations. She will let you know when she's happy and excited to do something, especially going for walks. It's almost like she's singing to you! She's a good traveler and just relaxes in the back seat. She is up to date on all shots, heartworm, and flea/tick treatments and is spayed. She is house-trained, does not chew on household items, and can be left free to roam when left alone. Her energy level is incredibly manageable. She loves a morning and early evening walk and is great on leash. She enjoys playing with her toys, but is otherwise perfectly content to relax and sleep. In fact, besides walks and playing with squeaky balls, Willow's absolute favorite thing to do is cuddle, especially when blankets are involved. She will melt your heart when she cuddles with you and will continue to do so as much as you let her. The only time of the day that Willow likes to be left in peace is when she eats her meals. Sometimes she also likes to quietly amuse herself with a toy. A girl needs her 'me time' right? If she does get into something she should not have, just play the 'trade up' game. Willow is good with children, but at this time no children are recommended for her new home. Willow also prefers to be the only dog in the home. Willow is a real sweetie and cuddle bug with many wonderful attributes. She likes people and easily warms up to new women, however she is very leery of strange men who enter the home. She reacts with blustery fanfare, but settles down once they pass the Willow Test. She loves playing with her current Dad and has a favorite uncle, only strange men upset her. She should continue having supervision around strangers. Willow was adopted in May 2022 but soon her owners realized their hectic home with many people coming and going is stressful for her. They believe a home that's quieter, without kids and animals, and with a person who can really work with her, would make Willow so happy and enable her to reach her potential. Willow was recently evaluated by a trainer with whom her adopter should continue to work with. Maura of Clear Skies Dog Training said: 'Willow is very trainable and can be redirected with treats. Willow has stranger danger but it is workable. She needs someone who is comfortable working with her, especially around men. She does redirect onto treats and is very food motivated. She is a deserving dog.' We think so, too!
