About Bambino

Chihuahua
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1. Older children only. 2. No condos or apartments. 1-year-old male Chihuahua, about 7 pounds. My paperwork says my name is Bambino, but I am a bouncy, lap stealing pup so my foster family started calling me a baby kangaroo, which has since been shortened to 'Roo'. I am sweet little dog. My whole goal in life is to be with my humans, especially on a lap, snuggling in. I am not a big play pup, although I am learning to play more. I will carry my toy around, steal it back from you or another dog. But that is about it. I am working really hard on my potty behavior. My foster mom says I am doing great, I just need a lot of going out. I love treats, so I think with the right snack, I will learn even faster. I have to admit, I might be a bit of a scaredy cat. Everything startles me at first. But I get used to new sounds, dogs, people pretty quickly. My foster mom thinks I could get used to a cat, no problem. But it might take a few days. I am not a dog for small kids, I am just too jumpy. So, an adult only home is the right one for me. I do enjoy my own voice. I think it's beautiful. I love to talk to the TV when I see dogs. I love to sing in my crate. I really like to bark at my humans if it's been too long between lap sits. However, I can very quiet too. When all my people are home, I tend to find a place to watch them or nap. So, if your neighbors are close and don't enjoy singing, I am not the dog for you. I am still a puppy. It's thought I am about a year old, but I am a young year, if that. Leash/Harness learning will need to be practiced. When I first came to my temporary family, I hated the harness. Now I don't mind it at all. Still learning leash rules. Again, I like really good snacks, so I will learn fast if the snacks are good. If you are looking for a very soft, low key, snuggle loving pup. I think I am perfect for the job. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at [email protected] or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
