About Cris

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1-year-old male Toy Fox Terrier mix, about 7 pounds. Cris, or Cristopher Puppins as we affectionately call him, is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. He is a VERY high energy go-get-em kind of guy and he'll keep you on your toes! He could run and play for hours (and hours) and still be ready to go-go-go! Toys are his favorite and he will even entertain himself by tossing them around the living room. He also loves flirt poles and jumping! We call him 'pogo', as well, for his habit of bouncing up and down as he follows you around the house. He would do amazing with an active family, who wants to hike, do agility and have another equally matched dog in the home. He is also good with other dogs, but I think he would be better with dogs who can match his energy and play style as he can be persistent and sometimes annoys the mellow older/smaller dogs in the house. He wants to play more than they do, so I think he'd LOVE a dog play buddy. Cris has been good with a dog savvy cat. I also think he would be alright with older or respectful kids. He seems to prefer women over men. His other favorite things are sunbathing, being under blankets, and of course, snuggling with his people! He's a super affectionate pup and wants nothing more than to be loved by his humans. His favorite spot on the couch is draped over your neck like a scarf! Because he's so full of character, Cris also likes to be HEARD. He makes all kinds of funny noises from grumbles to whimpers along with a pretty impressive capuchin monkey scream! He definitely makes a good watch dog! He wouldn't be a great apartment/condo fit for this reason, and the fact that he likes to have space to RUN! He has learned to be AMAZING in the car as well, running to his crate and laying down quietly for the ride. Lastly, Cris isn't fond of strangers. He's a bit fearful of them and will let you know by barking. He needs time to warm up to people, but once he does, he will be your bff! (And once he's attached to you there's no stopping his affections!) Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
