Abraham is a good boy, but he has severe territory aggression. He loves his crate, is house trained and loves to play Frisbee and any kind of catch. Typically Abraham is loving, snuggling and just precious, but in the past few years he has become more comfortable with his aggressive behavior and we are afraid to have him around our children at this point. We really have tried to make this work and it is heart breaking to have to look for him another home, because frankly we've never had to give up a dog like this and it feels so defeating. We love him so so much but have to look out for our children as he has bitten our 5 year old most recently and that's where we have to draw the line. Abraham's primary issue is barriers between him and the person. If he's outside in the back yard and we walk up to the fence where he is in the back yard he will growl and act as if he wants to bite. If he's in his crate and you try to touch the crate or put your hand inside to remove a toy or etc. while he's in it he will also act as though he is going to bite you. Recently he has become more snappy with sudden movements. He does not do well with bones that take a while to chew. Although he loves them he is VERY territorial of them and will lose sleep over the bone to ensure no one tries to get it from him. We adopted Abraham when he was about 1 and based on the way his tail looks (docked poorly) we believe he may have been mistreated, and likely was kept in a crate a lot and the barrier issues stem from that and perhaps a previous owner hitting his crate. That is assumption based, but it's the only thing that makes sense. We have been so good to Abraham and have tried to justify some of the things he's done, but unfortunately the time between incidents has grown frightfully close together. He does have a bite record and is currently in quarantine at our home in which once that is over we will have to make a decision on what to do with him and I'm desperate to try to save him from being euthanized.
