About Whitney

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. Meet Whitney, a beautiful 3 year old female Shorthaired Pointer/Shepherd mix. Whitney loves to play ball, and use her most excellent nose to find all the smells! In fact, we believe she'd be a superstar at search and rescue, barn hunting, or any of the nose-work sports! Like most shepherds, she likes to 'communicate,' but is not at all anxious or neurotic. Whitney is great with all people, but as a young, rambunctious 70 pound dog, she may be a bit too much for small children. She has grown and benefitted greatly from her time with her foster family, but will need continued training in obedience, manners, and impulse control. A very loyal girl, Whitney would do best with an active adult-only home with a fenced yard and no cats, small dogs or other little critters. As is often the case with black dogs, and due to no fault of her own, Whitney has struggled to find her forever home. Please help this sweet girl find her happy ending by sharing! Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
