About Leia

Hello to all you two-legged creatures out there, my name is Leia as in Princess Leia! I am a sweet girl living in Methuen, MA with my foster family! I am looking for a best friend and fur-ever home. At 3-years old, I am a smaller pittie mix at a lady-like 60 pounds. Prepared to be dazzled by my brindle coat, cute expressions, and affectionate nature. I have golden brown eyes that sparkle but unfortunately I do not photograph well. I would win a Miss Congeniality title, however! If cuddling was an extreme sport, I'd win a gold medal. I'd love to sit by my person's side and be a loyal companion. I can help with gardening too, but will take many breaks to roll around the yard. I have a penchant to wiggle in the grass on my back and wiggle my butt when meeting people! It's a good way to stretch and make people smile. I'm a breeze to train due to my motivation to work for treats. Cookie anyone? I'm glad to offer my paw or sit for a tasty confection. I come ready as I'm spayed, UTD on shots, microchipped and house-trained. I also walk well on-leash. And, I come with references! Though I am in a foster home now but lived in a boarding kennel for almost one whole year. The staff truly enjoyed their time with me and said I'm a very smart girl who greeted them with kisses and tail wags. Fun Fact: I still give kisses, hugs, and wiggles after all that time on my own. What does that say about how resilient and special I am!?!? I believe in honesty so I must disclose some baggage from my past. I experienced trauma from living in an apartment full of commotion, with kids who were not very nice to me and crazy canines who I got into 'paw'-ltercations with. The bad karma from my experiences makes me anxious around kids. I'm embarrassed to say I bit a child. I know that's bad but the trainer lady said I showed good bite inhibition despite my past abuse. If you guessed that I need a child-free and pet-free home, you'd be right. Although I have an unhappy history, I am very home-able for the right person and environment. If we're a match with the same simple lifestyle, you can be sure I will not disappoint my adoptive pet parents. Do you like stability and a routine? I do! Not fond of surprises? Me either!
