About Sophie

Sophie is a really sweet, friendly, and affectionate girl who came into our rescue about three and a half years ago after her owners left her behind to fend for herself when they were evicted. A neighbor said that she was neglected and mistreated and had a litter of puppies that the owners did not allow her to get to and they passed away. After the owners left Sophie stayed at the house and was understandably very sad and confused. She slept on the front porch and Neighbors brought food for her and we also left food, water, and blankets for her until we were able to rescue her. Due to her traumatic past she has anxiety and tends to be reactive around other dogs and when startled. She would do best in a home as the only pet where she can get all of the attention. Sophie has been through so much in her young life but Since being rescued she has come a long way and with love and patience has really come out of her shell and is now a happy girl. One of our volunteers involved with her rescue used to take her for long walks at a local park which she absolutely loved and she lights up when getting treats. Sophie is good on a leash, in a crate, and does well in the car. She is currently in a boarding facility and deserves to know what it's like to be in a loving home. She just needs love, patience, and understanding and is loved by everyone working at the boarding facility and is a a staff favorite because she's so loving and sweet. Sophie's adoption fee has been sponsored by a supporter of our rescue in the hopes of finding her a forever home, so her there is no adoption fee.
