Shrimp is a six- to seven-year-old Doberman who lost his owner over a year ago. The family never came forward to claim him, so a kind neighbor took him in. As far as we know, he has been an outside dog all his life, thus he is not completely house-trained, but is slowly getting the hang of being indoors. He does feel more comfortable having the freedom of being outdoors, but when indoors he will sure cuddle you and thinks he is a lap dog. He does not know boundaries inside and his current foster let's Shrimp lounge on the couch. Shrimp is living in a heated shelter outdoors and appears comfortable, but he deserves more. Shrimp loves people and gets along with older children. He has 2 elementary school children at his foster home. He has never been around other dogs and so is not dog-friendly. He would have to go to a single dog home. We are seeking a foster or adopter for this boy. Someone who has the patience to work with him so that he can be comfortable living in a house and live the pampered life he deserves in his older years. A $150 adoption fee applies. Please go to www.dobermanrescuenm.org and complete an application to give Shrimp a second change at life!
