Arf! Arf, everyone! I'm Valentina, a sweet, friendly, affectionate, playful, and super-loving 28-pound red and white 'Husky Inu,' which is a Siberian Husky/ Shiba Inu designer-dog mix, who was born October 2018. Everyone is attracted to me because of my icy blue eyes, a hallmark of my husky heritage. Without a DNA test, however, who really knows what mixed breeds are coursing through my veins. I was found as a pregnant stray in the Rio Grande area, but I was attacked by another dog and then miscarried my unborn pups. My fortunes changed when I was brought up to Houston so Miss Donna could find me a forever home. I get along great with everyone, including other dogs. We Husky Inus can be intensely loyal and loving family companions who tend to win the hearts of every family member. We're not picky about who will rub our bellies and become our best friend. That said, some Husky Inus can be bouncy and boisterous, so we're not always the perfect match for a family with very young children. We Husky Ibus are fun-loving, high-spirited, entertaining, and curious. While we're outdoors, we're constantly on the move and always up for adventure. Even though I'm small enough for snuggling in your lap and to live in an apartment, I have a lot of energy to burn in order to keep me both physically and mentally fit. So I'll need an active family who has the energy to take me on multiple daily walks, let me run loose at a dog park, or engage me in a lengthy game of fetch in the back yard. All these activities will keep me calm and ward off indoor-boredom-induced behavioral problems. We Husky Ibus are confident, intelligent dogs who can be demanding and challenging to train because of our strong-willed, stubborn personalities. So I'll need calm, consistent, assertive leadership with a large dose of patience from my owner, who hopefully is somewhat experienced in training dogs. My human needs to set boundaries and stick to them; for example, if I'm overprotective, I need to be corrected immediately. I thrive on reward-based obedience training that's peppered with plenty of verbal praise.
