About Saylor

Poodle / Lab
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Saylor!! Saylor is a 9 month old, female, Poodle and lab mix. *(Yes that's right, a 'Doodle' is just a mixed breed that can favor the characteristics of either parent.) She is on the smaller side and weighs only 38 pounds. She will not likely get much bigger. She has been spayed, microchipped and update on her vaccines. She is NOT hypoallergenic (most 'doodles' are not and many get rehomed due to that common misconception!) Her coat does not require regular grooming but she does benefit from a little trim around the chin and feet where she gets scruffier. Saylor is all LOVE and ENERGY! She loves meeting anyone and everyone she can. She just soaks up all the love and attention she can get. She loves other dogs. She can be very hyper and gets so excited she forgets her manners. She will need someone that leads an active lifestyle to keep her happy and well exercised. She is crate trained, potty trained and does well on car rides. She is leash trained but when she is excited that disappears and she pulls and jumps up on people. She has not had any trouble sharing treats, toys or food with other dogs or people. She loves to play fetch, Frisbee, or do anything active with you. She would be an amazing running or hiking partner. Saylor loves, loves, loves other dogs. She would do great with another active playful dog to run around with. She has lived with a Chihuahua and done well but when she is excited she may accidentally step on smaller dogs when she is playing. She has not met any cats yet but would probably bother them trying to play and chase them. She still gets excited and jumps all over people and due to this she would be too much for a very small child to deal with. Kids over 8 would be best. Saylor really needs a family with the time and energy to put in the work she needs to be her best self. Both labs and poodles are breeds with a lot of energy. When you mix these breeds together you typically get a highly energetic dog that requires more time and effort to exercise. A dog that is not given the proper outlet for their energy quickly becomes frustrated and will act out with negative behaviors. This is why it is vital to not pick a high energy dog if you are not committed to the work that comes with it. This sweet girl needs to play and run multiple times a day EVERY DAY. Rain or shine, hot or cold, if you're tired or not, she needs this from you. If you cannot commit to that level of exercise please pick one of our awesome lower energy pups. She cannot go to a home without a fenced yard, she needs to run and release her energy. Vet and home checks required. Fenced yard Required No children under 8yrs old. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) '%BC%8FMESSAGE [email protected] directly with questions or to get an application.
