About Loki

Adoption Fee: $100
Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Loki was adopted by us 2 years ago in Colorado. We now live in North Carolina. He comes from the Four Corners Indian Reservation area. He's a good-hearted dog who just wants walks and affection and a daily treat or two. He does have a high prey drive so can't be around cats or chickens or other small animals. We do have a little terrier dog that he loves. They play and get along great. Loki is very well potty trained. So much so that when he was at the shelter we adopted him from, he wouldn't go to the bathroom in his kennel. Speaking of potty...he really does not like to poop in the yard. He really needs a 30 minute walk a day (two would make him even happier), so you must have an active lifestyle or at least walk him often. Once he has been walked, he will sleep for hours. He walks very well on a short leash. He seems to like car rides, but prefers the window down. He will need so dramamine if you are going to drive on curvy roads. He paws at you when he wants you to pet him. He's 65 lbs. He's a real sweetheart--it's only the cat issue that is causing us to rehome him. He's an old soul doggie. And very beautiful. People constantly stop us on walks to tell us how beautiful he is.
