Howdy everyone! I'm Onyx, a fun-loving, high-energy, playful 40-pound black Lab/ Mountain Cur mix fella with a white vest and boots who was born in March 2021. Just call me easy-to-please because I get along with everybody -- humans of all ages including kids-- and other dogs. I love to cuddle and crawl up in the laps of my foster family. Remember that the sweet-faced, lovable Labrador Retriever is America's most popular dog breed. We're friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family looking for a medium-to-large dog. We Labs have all the attributes that add up to the ideal family dog. Like most Lab mixes, expect me to be a very loving, companionable housemate who bonds with the whole family as well as who socializes well with neighbor dogs and humans alike. But don't mistake my easygoing personality for low energy: Labs are enthusiastic athletes who require regular exercise to keep us physically and mentally fit. I'll need an active family who will take me on daily walks or engage me with tennis balls, tug-ropes, or Frisbees. My original owner got my canine buddy King and me when we were tiny pups. During the day, we were kept outside for 18 hours with limited water and no shade; at night, we were locked in a crate in the garage. It was a miserable life, to say the least. Fortunately he finally realized that we were more responsibility than he'd bargained for and surrendered us to Miss Donna to find us wonderful new homes. Arrange to meet me (and King, for that matter!) today so I can cover your face with mushy puppy kisses and leave big paw prints all over your heart. Although we're available separately, it'd be fantastic if I could be adopted with King so we could keep each other company while you're at work. Onyx is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $250. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
