Howdy everyone! I'm KIng, a sweet, gentle, fun-loving 45-pound chocolate Lab/ Mountain Cur mix fella who was born in May 2021. Just call me easy-to-please because I get along with everybody -- humans of all ages including kids. I'm submissive to other dogs and unsure what to think about cats! I love to cuddle and crawl up in the laps of my foster family. I love to sunbathe, especially since the worst of the scorching summer heat is past. Remember that the sweet-faced, lovable Labrador Retriever is America's most popular dog breed. We're friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family looking for a medium-to-large dog. We Labs have all the attributes that add up to the ideal family dog. Like most Lab mixes, expect me to be a very loving, companionable housemate who bonds with the whole family as well as who socializes well with neighbor dogs and humans alike. But don't mistake my easygoing personality for low energy: Labs are enthusiastic athletes who require regular exercise to keep us physically and mentally fit. I'll need an active family who will take me on daily walks or engage me with tennis balls, tug-ropes, or Frisbees. My original owner got my canine buddy Onyx and me when we were tiny pups. During the day, we were kept outside for 18 hours with limited water and no shade; at night, we were locked in a crate in the garage. It was a miserable life, to say the least. Fortunately he finally realized that we were more responsibility than he'd bargained for and surrendered us to Miss Donna to find us wonderful new homes. Arrange to meet me (and Onyx, for that matter!) today so I can cover your face with mushy puppy kisses and leave big paw prints all over your heart. Although we're available separately, it'd be fantastic if I could be adopted with Onyx so we could keep each other company while you're at work. King is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $250. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
