Poppy is a gorgeous. Perfect sized (40-45 lbs.), 3 year old female pit (looks pure Am Staff) with a very sweet demeanor and good manners. She is crate trained, house trained and is working on basic obedience (sit, down, heel, stay at door threshold, come). She LOVES people and her shyness around new people is rapidly disappearing. I had a session with a professional dog trainer who complimented her on her demeanor (attitude) and extreme intelligence and willingness to learn. Poppy prefers cuddling with you to toys and loves attention from her people. Her tail and excitement about children is heartwarming and her gentleness reminds me of a cat. As noted in her training session she loves to learn. She came back for more lessons (and treats) after our session was over. Very treat motivated she will be a blast to work with. I'd love to see her get her trick certificate or even become an agility dog. Poppy's energy level is average-a couple of good walks a day or being a hiking buddy is right up her ally. Between the physical and the mental exercise combined with lots of love and affection she will thrive. She is currently living with a larger male pit mix and gets along well with him. They don't play yet but her comfort level and his, are at a good place. She is special. Really special and will be a gift to her forever home.
