About Ziggy

**Ziggy must be the only animal in the home. He does not do well with other dogs. Meet Ziggy! He is a 3-year-old dachshund mix with a cute smile and a waggy tail. This cute ham is a whopping 30-lbs. Can you believe that this young man was on a kill list? He was at an open door shelter for a long time and never received one application! We can't believe no one could possibly want him. We have already fallen in loooooovee! Ziggy is an energetic and playful boy. He loves to get outside, do laps in the yard, or trot along your side for his walks. You should see the sparkle that takes hold of his eyes when our volunteers come to him with a leash! Walks are his absolute favorite thing in the world. Ziggy is a little touch and go with the humans he trusts to welcome into his circle. He's been hurt before, so when meeting him, you'll have to be patient to give him a chance. He needs to know what kindness feels like! With that being said, he may not be a good fit for young kids who want to rush getting to know him and smother him with kisses. He's adorable, but he needs his space. And that goes for other dogs as well. He'd much prefer to be your one and only. We consider him in a home with older kids who will work to understand Ziggy's needs, ques and boundaries but no young kids or frequent visitors.
