Well hello! I'm Bailey, a sweet, mellow, ultra-loving, affectionate gentle giant of a 60-pound brindle Plott Hound mix gal who was born in September 2013. I love people of all ages, cats, as well as other dogs and will cuddle with any two-legged or four-legged critter who's on the sofa with me. My foster mom loves the cute way that I will talk with her when she prompts me about how my day has been going. I adore it when she give me butt scratches as well as when she takes me bye-bye for a car ride. Foster Mom says that I'd be perfect for anyone. We Plotts are loyal to our families as well as protective. However, we're rarely aggressive with strangers who have been introduced to us by our owners. We're bright, courageous scent-hounds while hunting but mellow ladies and gents when at home. When we hunt, we are relentless and fearless, traits that were essential for a hound breed that would track large prey like bears in North Carolina, our home state. We don't adapt well to apartment life because we need plenty of exercise and space to run and play, like a fenced yard or access to a dog park. A woodland trail would be even better because we love to sniff and explore off leash. We're eager to please, so we respond to firm, consistent training. My life has been in upheaval for the past few years. I lived, along with a bunch of other pets, with an older couple for about 8 years. When they could no longer care for us, Foster Mom stepped in to take care of me. I've been so happy for the past year and a half; however, she's has a job that's become very demanding, and she regrets that she can't spend as much time with me as I deserve.
