About Tex

Meet Tex, a super handsome four-year-old, 60 lb. yellow lab mix with the softest coat and most gorgeous amber eyes. He came to Connecticut all the way from Texas (hence the name) after being found as a stray. His history is a mystery but one thing we do know is that this boy is amazing! With a gentle demeanor and sweet personality, Tex will quickly capture your heart! He is affectionate, playful, and will even roll over on his back for belly rubs. While he takes some time to warm up to new people, Tex loves attention and being by your side. He's always up for adventure, whether it be for a walk around the neighborhood, hike in the woods, or kayaking on the lake. Tex walks exceptionally well on leash, is housetrained, and is a great listener. He prefers dogs on the calmer side, however would do best in a home as an only pet (he's also not fond of cats). While he has met many children while in foster, he'd be best suited for a family with teens and up. Tex would like to find a home with adopters not gone long hours as he has displayed some separation anxiety. His adoption fee is $350 and Tex is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered.
