About Trixie

Trixie was adopted from Clovis New Mexico shelter by a family who never spayed her. She had pups and we took her and one of her puppies into rescue when all their unfixed dogs started fighting (shocker). We found the pup a home immediately. This was middle of 2021. Trixie was adopted in October 2021 and was in the home almost a year. Everything was going well until there developed dominance issues with their other female and they got into 4 very very bad fight that Trixie started but lost every time. She had 4 ER visits and numerous stitches and almost lost part of her ear. Her adopter even purchased an indestructible kennel that Trixie busted out of in order to get to the other female who free roamed. The other female was not kennelled and not sure what drama the 2 had while the owner was away but the fights defintely started. Luckily neither dog perished but Trixie required surgery on her eye lid and ears a couple times. The 4th fight, it was decided that she would be returned to my rescue. Her home tried everything they could but sometimes dogs just don't get along like some people. Trixie did well in my pack the 3 months I had her. She's been bounced around too many times I don't wana take a chance on her having any issues. I also believe Bella (their other female), antagonized her a bit as she was allowed to roam the house while Trixie was kennelled and I believe that was part of the issue. I want her in a home with no other female dogs if possible or at least submissive ones. She is in my home in a large pack and tried busting out of her kennel when i first took her back to get at one of my anxious dogs that screams but i have her in a calmer room away from him and in an indestructible kennel and she has been fine now for several months. I am also a very strong owner where her prior home was more submissive and not as assertive and strong. I have tons of pictures of Trixie and she's now located in Amarillo Texas. We have an adoption process and require approved adopter to pick up-we do not transport. I will also note we have one male dog with super high anxiety and he is kennelled and screams etc. Trixie busted out of one of my wire kennels while i was at work and was in the dog room and you could tell she and the male had gotten into it through his kennel. I have since put her in an indestructible kennel and chained the gate and she has done just fine. Again, wonderful sweet loving girl who needs an only dog home to really thrive or one with a relaxed dog with no anxiety. Trixie and the male she had issues with are fine when hes out of the kennel and shes fine with the rest of my pack as well. She's just reactive to loud screams and high anxiety and it triggers her.
