Welcome Tux to the FHL Family. He has a very sad back story. He was found in the Salisbury Walmart with a shopping bag tied around his stomach area. Tux per citizen comments on Facebook was recently brought from Wisconsin to keep from being killed just to be given away to another citizen and then this happened and he ended up at the Rowan County Shelter. He is a intact feist mix, approximately 5 years old, 14 lbs has had his first set of shots, rabies and microchipped. He is slightly arthritic on his back legs but only seems to favor one or the other when he first wakes up. The vet found a heart murmur but it does not effect him at this time. He loves car rides, snuggling up, curling in your lap or just being near people. He wasn't fond of his first bath but accepted it reluctantly. Does fine in a crate or out. Appears to get along with most all dogs but will curl his lip at times and growl if they get in his personal space. Other times he is fine. He is housebroken and just wants to be with people. Also, has shown no interest in the cat at his foster home. If you think you can give this sweet traumatized boy a forever home please send us your email address to obtain an Adoption Application.
