Please note that we will ask for a vet reference. Bella, the mother, can be separated from Rango, her puppy, or they can stay together. Name: Rango Age: 10 weeks Breed: Beagle mix, currently 5#, most likely small/medium when fully grown Sex: Male, not neutered Location: Charlotte County, VA Name: Bella Age: approx. 3 years old Breed: Beagle mix, 45#, medium Sex: Female, not spayed Location: Charlotte County, VA Vet Information: Rango and Bella are unaltered and not microchipped. Bella is not current with vaccinations and has not been heartworm tested. Rango's caretaker is working on getting him to the vet to get his shots. We are told that Rango seems to be able to see shadows and has adapted by relying on his hearing and the other puppies in his litter. Their caretaker says that he appears to be healthy and happy. It's believed that Bella has partial vision. Her caretaker thinks that she can see shadows and enough to get around. Caretaker report: Rango's mother, Bella, was a stray hunting dog who wandered onto their caretaker's property. Shortly thereafter, Bella gave birth in their caretaker's yard. The caretaker tried to obtain help locally but could not. All of the other puppies in the litter have been adopted or taken into rescue. Their caretaker would like to find homes that have time and experience in caring for blind dogs for Bella and Rango. Bella and Rango are currently living outdoors, and their caretaker is afraid that, since no one is home much of the time to protect them, Rango and Bella will be harmed by other, wild animals living there. Since Bella is a stray and Rango is very young, neither is housebroken or leash trained. Bella can be nervous and shy, but she is good with people of all ages, other dogs, and small animals. Rango is outgoing and good with people of all ages, other dogs, and small animals. Bella and Rango are not possessive of treats, toys, or food, and neither has shown aggression. Neither has a bite history. Bella's caretaker feels that she adapts well to new situations and surroundings despite her visual limitations. Bella and Rango's caretaker would like you to know: 'We cannot care for them. We are not home enough and there are other animals, coyotes, bears, and other dogs that can harm them. They are happy and healthy as far as we know but they are blind. Bella is beautiful and so sweet!' Does anyone have room for sweet Rango or his lovely mother, Bella? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
