About Celeste and Selene

Bengal
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Boise, ID Celeste and Selene are an 8-year-old bonded pair, who were born in the same litter in 2014. Unfortunately, their original owner declawed them, developed allergies to them, and then placed them in a new home. The new family was delighted to have Celeste and Selene, and brought them home when they were four years old. They were not familiar with the Bengal breed but they knew these girls needed a loving home and they were happy to love them, and give them a fresh start. What they didn't know is that Bengals don't always operate 'as advertised.' There is so much information on the web that identifies Bengals as 'dog loving, kid loving, basically a leopard in your living room.' They soon discovered that these beautiful girls needed a lot more attention than they expected, and that the girls really weren't huge fans of the dogs. Celeste and Selene's family would love for them to go to a family that is prepared for the energetic nature of Bengals, who will be able and willing to give them a lot of attention. Celeste loves chasing toys, climbing up high, chasing laser pointer dots, and really anything that she can try to get a paw on! She is incredibly vocal and communicates when she needs something. She also loves running on her exercise wheel, when given the chance! Selene yells for pettings, and will jump to an open and high area for this, when she's comfortable where she is. She likes to rest in cat beds as well as nooks, so cat beds with holes are her favorite. They are both very loving cats when they warm up to you. They do allow belly rubs and sometimes that's what they want most! Celeste is more inclined to lay around with people, but Selene takes a little more time to get to know you, before she'll indulge in a cuddle session. Celeste and Selene would do well with children 10 years and older, provided that they have been taught proper handling techniques. While they have been around dogs, it is more like they 'tolerate' the dogs, rather than thrive with them. Selene did have some litter box avoidance issues, and was taken to the Vet where they found she had crystals in her urine, which was treated. We do believe they would both thrive on a raw food diet, and would also appreciate a water fountain that is properly maintained. Celeste and Selene are declawed (not by the current owner), spayed, and up to date on Vaccinations.
