About Kurt

Meet Kurt !! This beautiful boy and his sister Courtney (already adopted) ended up in the shelter and they were starved to the point of being skeletons z Kurt was adopted early on but was recently returned. Kurt is an approx 1 year old, male, Pitbull type mix. He weighs approx 40 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is thankfully heartworm negative. Kurt just loves everyone and everything, he is very friendly and good with all other dogs. He is fostered with cats and doesn't hurt them but he tries to play with them like they are dogs so not all cats will appreciate that. **He has one quirk that caused him to be returned. Despite loving other dogs he will on rare occasions run over and get snappy with them. He's never hurt another dog and after observing him it appears it is over food. He is fostered with multiple dogs of all sizes. He plays with and sleeps with the other dogs. Feeding separately seems to be the key with him. Kurt is great meeting strangers and is very social and friendly. He is a lover and although he's not fostered with kids we think he will do well with older kids as he jumps up on people. He's very sweet and he's very cuddly. He still has some puppy energy and likes to run and play. He does well in the house. He is great about crating and is quiet and content when crated. He is doing well on the leash and is good on car rides as well. Kurt is doing great with potty training when using a dog door. He has not yet figured out how to alert you that he needs to go but does well letting himself out. He does not go potty in his crate so hopefully everything will click for him if you don't have a dog door. He loves playing with other dogs and can hang with bigger playful dogs. He enjoys to wrestle and chase with dogs. He loves fetch and tug o war. He is also an expert cuddle and loves to sleep in bed with you He doesn't share food well with other dogs. Being starved will do that to a dog! We still feed him in the crate just to give him his own space. He's fine sharing with people.
