About Wyatt

Adoption Fee: $50
Treeing Walker Coonhound mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

This is Wyatt! He is a Treeing Walker Coonhound that is about 6 years old. We rescued Wyatt about 3 years ago at which point they told us he was between 1 and 7. We have assumed he was on the younger end of that and so we are guessing he is about 6 now. He started out a quiet dog when we first adopted him but has over time developed some dominant behaviors including food aggression, resource guarding and stubborn. We recently left for 10 days on our honeymoon and while we were gone he bit my brother due to food aggression. Due to this we sent him to do a board and train session for 3 weeks at the Academy for Canine Behavior and has since improved but still has some aggressive tendencies pop up, especially when training is lacking. He needs someone that can continue to train him heavily and make sure he knows he is not alpha. We are unfortunately not able to do this and really need to find him a good home where he can be successful. 90% of the time he is such a sweet dog, cuddling up on the couch or sleeping in the sun, but that remaining 10% has become an issue for us to manage. Please let us know if you are interested and would like to meet Wyatt or get to know him more.
