About Little Nicky

Little Nicky is another one of the dogs we recently got from a shelter in Va that is killing almost everyone as soon as their hold is up! We have been putting in rescue offers 'of last resort' for all the dogs we can. That means, if another rescue will take them.....great! If not, we are the safety net that saves their lives! Like his namesake, Little Nicky was made out to be a little devil! But is actually, only the Devil's middle son whose mother is an angel and can be sweet and charming if he applies himself! Little Nicky was banished to the pits of a shelter after getting in a fight with a new dog over a hot dog bun! No joke. Nevermind that Nicky had been there longer. Nevermind that they should have been more bonded to Nicky than this new arrival! Nope. Little Nicky just darn near lost his life over a piece of hot dog bun. Little Nicky is a 2 year old, mixed breed dog who weighs 25 pounds. He enjoys riding in cars and playing fetch and enjoying his toys! He is housetrained and is pretty good with the other dogs in his foster home as long has he isn't asked to share his food. That brings out the devil in him! Amazingly enough, we were told that Little Nicky even lived with kids without poking them with his pitchfork! But given that it takes him time to warm up to new people, we don't recommend any kids too young to know when to give him space and he needs adults who are willing to do the same. He needs an adopter who realizes that he is going to be uncomfortable when first adopted but will warm up to you like the fiery pits of hell in just a few short days! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella.
