About Hannah

Hannah is a low energy dog. She is EXTREMELY sweet and well behaved. She is fully house trained, has never attempted to chew/destroy anything in the home and listens very well. This sweet girl aims to please and just wants to love and be loved in return. She is not bothered by thunderstorms and also has no issue going potty out in the rain. Hannah does well in the car - no car sickness or anxiousness. Hannah is very scared of vet visits and does best if she can be on a lap or held tightly as a security blanket. Hannah LOVES her walks and will get quite chatty if you take too long when she is ready to go! She also loves going outside to explore, but is just as happy to nap inside on a comfy dog bed. Hannah is VERY SHY upon meeting new people. It takes her a bit to warm up to newcomers so introductions must be slow. Once Hannah has decided she likes you, the kisses, tail wiggles and flops in your lap will follow - she has a very loving and funny personality! We suspect at some point she was abused/mistreated bc very loud voices and groups of children can sometimes startle her - despite this, she has ZERO aggression. A quieter home without young children would be best for her to feel safe and secure. Hannah is dog friendly. She is non-reactive towards other dogs on walks (no barking or visible reaction at all) and in her foster home she gets along well with her current foster brother who is a senior, male German Shepherd. We believe Hannah would do well with another low energy/calm dog or also be perfectly happy as an only dog. Hannah is used to having a person home with her most of the day, so that would also be ideal for her forever home. We would like to find a home with a similar environment to her foster home to make the transition as smooth as possible. The ideal adopter for Hannah would be a calm home with canine diabetes experience who is committed to making her a priority and making her part of the family, this girl is such a love! A yard with a fence so Hannah can have the freedom to explore off-leash is also required. Due to Hannah's needs, we believe experience is more important than location, so we are willing to consider an out of state adoption should we find the PERFECT fit. Hannah is currently located in Central Florida. All interested adopters will need to complete an application that includes vet references and if the application is accepted, a home check will be done. Hannah's foster is committed to traveling to the potential adopters home and doing the home checks herself to ensure Hannah goes to the perfect family for her. If the applicant is local, we would love for the forever family to start visiting Hannah to get acquainted. If the applicant is not local, the foster is committed to making the trip and having Hannah spend time with the forever family a few hours a day for several days so she can slowly get used to her new surroundings before finalizing the adoption.
