About Kahlua

We rescued Kahlua only hours from death row at a Houston shelter. She was picked up as a stray.. She Houston shelter noted Kahlua to be a 5-year old American Staffordshire Terrier and possibly Labrador mix. She weighs 65 lbs. She appears much younger than 5 years old. To our experience she is more likely around 3 years old. We are not sure what happened to Kahlua's tail but it appears that it had been broken when she was younger or it could be a birth defect. It looks like a little piggie tail. It is so adorable when she wags her tail, her whole body shakes with it. Kahlua is people and dog friendly. She currently lives with other dogs that range from a 4-lb Yorkie to a 65-lb Dutch Shepherd. She enjoys playing with the 2 larger dogs at her foster home but is sweet and gentle with the other smaller dogs. Kahlua takes treats very gently from the hand. She walks real well on a leash without pulling. She hasn't figured out yet what to do with toys. We can only assume she never had any. Kahlua is crate-trained, house-trained, and she listens well and follows commands such as 'come here', 'sit', 'stay', 'go in your crate', 'lay down', 'wanna go for a walk', 'leave it'. She really is a good girl! Kahlua is spayed, micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccines, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Kahlua is a gentle soul who would love nothing more than to find her own loving forever home where she will be cherished and loved, and be part of a family.
