About Scout

Scout is a 1 year old heeler. His parents were a red heeler and a blue heeler. On his back coloring you can see the blue, otherwise he looks like a red heeler. He is house and crate trained although he still has a tendency to chew things if bored and unattended. Scout does really well with recall and he is learning leash walking as he had never really had a use for it before. He is learning fast as he is VERY smart! He rides well in a car and he is friendly with new people. Scout loves kids and is good with other dogs and farm cats. He is a herding breed and as such it would depend on the house cat probably but he has not typically lived with house cats. Scout would love a farm where he could patrol for predators, ride on the gater and keep tabs on the kiddos. He has been around horses and llamas here and been good. He has not worked livestock but we think he would learn quickly with teaching as he shows a natural instinct. He is up to date on vetwork, microchipped and on heartworm preventative.
