About Buttercream

Buttercream initially found her self in rescue with her bulldog brother which were confiscated from breeders who were leaving them outside. We took her and got her spayed and found an amazing adopter that drove 10 hours to pick her up. She remained in that home for roughly 8 to 9 months when she injured her back causing her to go paralyzed from the waist down for about a week. She was taken to the vet and x-rays were done and physical therapy was started immediately however, her mom works long hours has her own medical conditions and could not care for a special-needs dog. The veterinarian did say that she had a prior back injury which of course we were unaware of at the time of adoption. She is now back in our rescue, is walking and Uses the bathroom outside but sometimes does leak in the evenings and you can tell she has weaker back legs even though she's mobile, she still kind of wobbles. She also is wobbly when she walks and loses her balance some. She does have a wheelchair in the event she ever needs it; but we are looking for a special-needs home that can care for her if she goes back down in her rear end. We are definitely looking for a breed knowledgeable special-needs familiar home who is happy that she's walking but that will care for her in the event she needs her wheelchair. The home will have very few or no steps, and no super active other dogs. She is located in Amarillo Texas and we do not transport our dogs. Adoption process and fee applies.
