PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1. Needs a fully fenced yard to run and play in. 2. Would do best with another dog in the home. 3. Kids should be older. Say hi to Dally, a 1-year-old female Kelpie/Cattle Dog mix that weighs about 28 pounds. Abandoned as a young puppy, Dally lived in the woods for a few months, so, not surprisingly, she is shy, timid, and cautious until she gets to know you. Still a puppy, Dally is working hard on manners and being a house dog. She is a bit hyper in the morning and will want to love all over you when you get home from work. Because she can get the zoomies, a fenced yard would be a must. Dally is a lot more confident with another dog that can help her learn and that loves to play. Her foster BFF is a 6-pound chihuahua with which she is kind and gentle-but she also loves playing with her other 50-pound foster sister. Dally tends to eat quickly, likely due to her time as a stray, and will go right in for a treat. She is kennel-trained, loves to give kisses, and to play ball (but is not great at giving the ball back!). As she can jump up and do play nibbles, older kids only would be best. And Dally's dream adopter would be someone with cattle dog experience or that's familiar with my breed. To request an adoption application, email [email protected] Adoption contract and fee applies. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
