About Odie

I adopted him as a rescue at about four months old. He has been blind since birth however he does see shadows. I had fenced in backyard and he was secure and comfortable with that. I have now moved from Arkansas to Tennessee and I no longer have a fenced area for him, I will be moving again to a smaller place by the end of the year and will not have the space for him. Additionally, I am retired, in my 70's, and with Odie weighing in just under 100 pounds I struggle to handle him. I am currently using a leash to take him outside to his lead 4-6 times a day for about 15 minutes each. He is a very affectionate dog with giant blue eyes, gets along well with the indoor/outdoor cats I have and another small dog. Once he gets comfortable he is very happy go lucky, kinda like 'Odie' from Garfield. I have started using a clicker to facilitate training, but we have just begun. I am looking for an experienced dog person to adopt him and provide a safe and secure forever home.
