About Jett and Theo

The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are micro chipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Hi, we are Theo and Jett. We are a bonded pair of terrier mixes that sleeps, naps, plays, eats and fetches, together. We came from horrible situations and have learned that people and other dogs can be kind. We entertain each another and will play tug of war and wrestle with each other for hours on end. We sleep through the night side by side and just adore each other. We are not destructive and don't chew cords or furniture, just stuffy toys and bully sticks, supervised. Theo is a one year old, tan Cairn Terrier who came from a high kill shelter and is a healthy 8 pounds. Upon meeting him at the shelter, he hid underneath his bed in his kennel with his ears up and eyes wide open, scared to death. They handed him to me and he cuddled right up next to me with those big eyes pleading to rescue him and we did. He came to our foster home and was very scared in the beginning and is still afraid of strangers and will run and hide. He is very gentle, submissive and a cuddle bug. He is a very good big brother to Jett who came to our house awhile later. Jett is an 11 pound, 10 month old Yorkie Terrier/Maltese mix and was not wanted by his first family and was, unfortunately given to another family. The father told the kids to 'Get rid of it.' The kids went door to door asking the neighbors if anyone wanted a free puppy. One amazing lady said she would take him and immediately contacted rescue groups to see if anyone had room. We did and we brought him home and he, too, was very scared of dogs and people but Theo taught him to be brave and Jett taught Theo to be a bit more social. Together, they compliment each others strengths and weaknesses and are quite the pair. They are both healthy, shots up to date, Rabies certificate, heart worm negative, neutered and micro chipped. If you want a fun, friendly, entertaining duo, these two are your pair. We require a fenced in yard, please; No apartment living. Grandkids that visit is fine.
